Reshape Your Nose With The Help Of Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure done for the purpose of adjusting the shape of the nose. The main aim of this procedure is to improve one’s facial appearance or breathing, or even both. The upper side of the nose consists of bone, and the lower part has cartilage. This surgery can address the cartilage, bone, skin, or even all. While planning for the operation, the specialist will be considering your facial features and what will look good.

Why Is It Done?

Rhinoplasty is performed for changing the shape, size, and proportion of the nose. It is done for repairing any form of deformity which might occur due to an injury, a congenital disability, or difficulties in breathing.

Procedure

The surgery is usually performed with local anesthesia. It may also proceed under general anesthesia or sedation. The operation can target either the nose’s interior or make a small cut on the outer side of the nose right at the base between the nostrils. The surgeon will be adjusting the cartilage and bone that lies under the skin.

For small changes in your nose, cartilage is taken from deeper parts of the nose. On the other hand, for more substantial changes, cartilage is taken from ribs, implants, or other parts of the body. After all the changes have been made, the surgeon places the tissues and skin back, and the incision is stitched.

You are advised not to make extreme facial expressions and also restrict too much movement of the upper lip.
